LEGO pirate set: the 90s galleon is back

If you are among the lucky ones who grew up in the fabulous 90s and you enjoyed playing with the LEGO, you can't help but remember the majestic Barracuda galleon of the Black Sea.

It was every child's dream, I still thank Santa Claus for giving it to me back in '95: according to many connoisseurs, the best LEGO pirate set ever built.

LEGO Pirates: the galleon is back after 30 years

Il LEGO pirate galleon returns after 30 years with the code name "LEGO Ideas 21322″. The new LEGO pirate ship faithfully follows that of the 90s, maintaining the same dimensions: 59 cm high, 64 cm wide and 64 cm deep.

Even the graphics on the packaging are nostalgic, in fact the same color palette of the time was used.

LEGO Galleon: where did the idea for the new pirate set come from?

The new set dedicated to the most loved LEGO Galleon ever comes from the Lego Ideas incubator, a portal where the most avid fans of colored bricks can propose sets and see them, maybe one day, transformed into reality.

New LEGO galleon adds more fun

The new LEGO set compared to the 90's one adds a few more features. The ship can in fact run aground on an island to be transformed into a pirate den.

Official LEGO Pirate Galleon Details:

Become a pirate with this brand new LEGO Ideas set, inspired by the 1989 Black Sea Barracuda pirate ship model. Adventurers can now explore the island and the wreck of Captain Blackbeard's famous ship, which has been lost at sea over 30 years does.

The new LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay set was created based on a presentation to the LEGO Ideas platform by fan designer Pablo Sánchez Jiménez, who has a passion for pirates and was inspired after building LEGO brick models with his father when he was young. The LEGO IDEAS Pirates of Barracuda Bay project reached the milestone of 10.000 supporters in just 25 days, making it one of the fastest sets to reach the goal.

With 2.545 pieces in total, the model contains everything a pirate or LEGO fan needs to create the ultimate shipwreck, including the captain's base, grocery store, and supply port. LEGO builders can even discover buried treasures on the island by removing parts of the ship to explore new areas and create new stories.

This set also contains 8 minifigures based on pirate characters from classic pirate lines, including the iconic Captain Blackbeard, Lady Anchor, Robin Loot and the twins, Port and Starboard as well as 3 other pirates and 2 skeletons and various animals to discover on the Island.

When builders get tired of being stranded at sea, the island can also be reassembled to create Captain Blackbeard's legendary ship, the Black Sea Barracuda. Rebuild the ship to launch a rescue mission to rescue the ship's crew and find the buried treasure.

The LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay set measures 59cm high, 64cm wide and 64cm deep and is sure to make an impact when proudly displayed or placed among other LEGO Pirates sets.
