Review Neffos X1 Lite, l'entry level elegant

Neffos X1 Lite it is the less powerful version of the TP-Link Neffos X1 device line. An entry level with good construction materials but with some compromises to accept.

Bottle

Smartphone unboxing is done quickly. Inside the elegant white packaging there is only:

  • device;
  • wall charger with separate micro USB cable included and 1A output;
  • cable with micro USB adapter;
  • protective film;
  • basic manuals;
  • paper clip for the nanoSIM trolley.

The smartphone appears immediately upon opening the package and makes a fine show of itself. It's hard not to think that, for what it costs, it boasts construction materials definitely interesting. The dimensions are 142,6X71,2X8,5 mm for a total weight of 138 grams.

It doesn't have a wow effect design, black front panel and metallic gray or champagne back panel, but in its simplicity it doesn't give the impression of being cheap. The back panel has that minimum of rough effect, enough to prevent the device from slipping out of hand.

Il fingerprint reader, present despite being an entry level, is positioned on the rear immediately below the camera. On the front there are only three soft touch keys, not backlit. Quite a serious shortcoming, considering that the panel is black, but you get used to it.

The Neffos X1 Lite display is a 5 "IPS with HD resolution. It is not the best you can find on the market, it does not have a great color rendering. Either way it's pretty bright.

Hardware and software

On board the device there is a decidedly entry level hardware:

  • processor octa core MediaTek MT6750 with a maximum frequency of 1,5 ghz;
  • 2GB of RAM memory;
  • 16GB of internal storage;
  • internal battery from 2550 mAh;

You cannot expect a superior technical data sheet, considering the price range to which it belongs. The user experience is still interesting thanks to the presence of a well-optimized ROM.

The operating system is Android 7.0 under user interface NFUI 7.0. At the time of writing this review (February 2018) the security patches are firm in November 2017. The interface is customized, but it does not burden the system, also due to the lack of bloatware.

La integrated battery from 2550 mAh allows you to cover the day of use using it as a secondary smartphone. I would have expected a slightly higher autonomy, especially considering the display with resolution limited to HD.

Multimedia

Neffox X1 Lite it is not a camera phone, but neither does it claim to be. It has a main sensor from 13MP with digital stabilizer and phase detection focus. Do not miss the dual flash dual-tone LED flash. To have sufficient shots you will have to make sure that the lighting conditions are excellent, otherwise the noise will increase exponentially. The videos, with maximum full HD resolution, are just enough.

The front chamber from 5MP it does not give particular satisfactions. Even with favorable light, the photos show dull colors. In short, the positive aspects of this Neffos X1 Lite are others.

Lo speaker audio mono of the smartphone has an average quality: a particularly loud sound, but which tends to croak when pushed to the maximum. The 3,5 mm audio jack is present at the top of the smartphone and works without any problem.

Sensors and connectivity

Neffos X1 Lite offers as the highest form of data network connectivity theLTE. Reception is average. On the smartphone there is support for the dual SIM dual stand-by. Data connectivity works on one SIM at a time.

Among other forms of connectivity is the Wi-Fi (dual band), he Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS with A-GPS and Glonass. I have not encountered any operating problems, too bad for the lack of NFC.

The sensor suite is very complete: accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, proximity, brightness and fingerprint reader. The latter works very well, considering that it is an entry level.

Is it worth buying?

[

I would buy it because

  • ultra light;
  • good rapporto qualità / prezzo;
  • light and well optimized interface;
  • good construction materials.

I wouldn't buy it because

  • poorly defined display and with dull colors;
  • just enough camera and only with good lighting conditions.
