[Review] Samsung Galaxy Book: how does it behave?

12 inches, metal body and keyboard included: these are the main features of Samsung Galaxy Book, the coverable presented at MWC 2017 by the Korean company and now finally available also in Italy.

But is it worth buying?

A respectable hardware

Samsung Galaxy Book - in the 12-inch version - boasts un display Super AMOLED with Full HD + resolution, while under the body we find an Intel Core i5 processor of the seventh generation, accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and an SSD from 256 GB of internal memory.

In short, a hardware that guarantees excellent performance in any situation, except for some occasional - and unfortunately unpleasant - slowdown. In general, however, Samsung Galaxy Book, obviously also equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS, allows you to work without major problems even using rather heavy programs, such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Photoshop, but also to enjoy healthy entertainment thanks to the excellent display and the discreet sound sector.

Unfortunately, to limit you is the choice to insert, in addition to the slot for the microSD, solo due porte USB-Type C, which will prevent you from directly connecting the mouse, any other keyboard, an external monitor and, above all, the classic USB sticks. To do all this you will have to invest some extra money to buy a special adapter.

Finally, note the presence of ben two cameras, a 5 megapixel front and a 13 megapixel rear; the latter allows you to get discreet shots and shoot videos in 4K.

An unconvincing keyboard

The problem at this point is that you just need to place your palm on the side of the keyboard to accidentally press the left button, effectively disabling the trackpad. An unacceptable defect for a device that, in the configuration we tested, costs well Euro 1.499.
