After the success of the first title (which we also liked), the sequel Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 it was in the air. What emerges from the rumors unearthed by Bespin Bulletin, a social account dedicated entirely to the stories of a galaxy far, far away, EA started working on it as soon as the first one was finished, and could release the sequel in 2022.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, everything we know about the sequel
At the moment the information regarding Jedi Fallen Order 2 is not very much. Besides the fact that will be released in 2022 (expected in the first half), we know for sure he's working on it Respawn Entertainment, the manufacturer of the first game, in collaboration with EA.
Additionally, the fact that Respawn has been reported to be hiring more engineers to work on the project since December 2019 bodes well. What had convinced gamers and fans of Star Wars in Jedi Fallen Order, was above all the compelling story, set between the end of the Galactic Republic and the events of the original trilogy. But there had been concerns regarding the technical department (which, however, did not spoil the game at all). If these new hires indicate more money and time invested in development, and the plot remains equally faithful to the spirit of Star Wars, Jedi Fallen Order 2 can be a really interesting video game.
Finally, we know that, most likely, it is theunique game about Star Wars that EA is funding. At the moment, in fact, it seems that the production of a possible Star Wars Battlefront 3 is stopped, as production company Dice is working on the new Battlefield, its flagship "shooter".
Are we sure of the date?
In the world of video game development, setting a date exactly two years in advance is unlikely. Although Respawn has a project finish date, and EA is developing a schedule for release, it still is too early to be sure. Many things could delay the release of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order 2, not least the quarantine that forced many developers to suspend work.
On the positive side, there is that the sequel is not a question of if, but of when.
