Telegram continues to evolve and win new members. In 2018 it was the protagonist of a real download boom and reached 200 million monthly active users. The figure did not go unnoticed by CEO Pavel Durov, who recently promised to do even more to make the app functional and effective.
On February 26, from the pages of the official blog, Telegram announced the release of the version 5.4 for both Android and iPhone devices. The new features provided within the app are three in particular: the automatic start of the videos received via chat, the consumption control through the management of downloads and the arrival of the multi-account. With this maneuver, the English company wants to increase the satisfaction of users sown in every area of the world and shorten the gap that separates it from WhatsApp, the most used messaging application in the world.

The first change takes into account the country of origin of each member and prevents the data download starts automatically. This in fact also depends on the cost of the Data connection of the individual country. The function thus allows you to check consumption effectively. In this way, Telegram takes into account the difference in charges for data connection in different areas of the world.
In addition, documents that are too large are no longer automatically downloaded to the mobile, but from today I will be asked for the user's authorization. The choice made will then be recorded and applied in subsequent downloads.
Automatic playback of received videos
The second novelty is theauto-play of videos, a function already present in many applications, including Facebook. Videos received in the Telegram chat they will start automatically when the user scrolls through the conversation, but they will be silent. To activate it, you will need to increase the volume of the device.
The arrival of the multi-account
Up to this time for log in to Telegram from another account you had to log out and log in again. With the version 5.4 you have all the accounts registered within a single interface. This solution is very useful for those who use the app both with a professional account and with a personal profile and want to keep the two roles separate in the different chats.
Within the app it is already possible to add up to three different accounts. Naturally, the user will regularly receive push notifications of all registered profiles, and in each of these will appear the account for which they are intended.
