Introduced as a medal event in 1998, it was then removed from the Games after the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This year, after a long wait, it finally returns to the medal table sports. Like baseball, it will return as a sport to Tokyo, but it seems to be of a sport that will be included only occasionally in the event, given that it does not appear in the Paris 2024 program. Indeed, baseball will appear as an exclusively male sport, softball will instead be female. Participating in their respective tournaments will be six different countries, including the US, which has held the sporting record for a long time now.
Karate
Il karate, which has a long history in Japan, will finally make its debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. However, it could be a one-off event, as it is not mentioned in the Paris 2024 schedule. different disciplines to the next games: kata, a demonstration of form in which athletes are judged on technique, e kumite, a head-to-head competition between athletes. Climbing
The climb is another of the sports that will make its debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. At the next Games, the competition will be a single event that will include three different disciplines: speed, bouldering and lead. At the end of the race an overall winner will be awarded, both for men and for women. It is unique in climbing competitions, where the three disciplines are usually managed separately. In Tokyo, however, every climber will compete in every discipline, they fight for the score that will allow them to access the medal. Each athlete, however, will not have the opportunity to see the performance of those who precede him, so as to avoid copying the path.
