The filming of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the sequel to the film dedicated to Sonic, the iconic video game character by SEGA. The film was shown for the first time in a photo that appeared on Twitter which would confirm the presence of Knuckles the Echidna, a popular character in the videogame saga and highly anticipated presence in the film.

the image, which you can see above, shows three scene figurines they represent Sonic, Tails e Knuckles at Fort Langley, where filming is underway. Obviously, in the final result, the characters will be CGI, but these props give the actors and crew an idea of where the characters should appear. The presence of Tails on the show had already been confirmed at the end of the first film, but Knuckles had not yet been formalized.
Unlike Tails, Knuckles did not appear in the first Sonic the Hedgehog, but an Echidna tribe was present at the beginning of the film. Jeff Fowler, director of the film, commented at the time of the first chapter: “For this first film, we were really just looking at the game in 1991 to understand where it all began to keep it simple. We try to best represent Sonic and Robotnik and their rivalry which I love… there are many fantastic characters in the Sonic universe, but the most important thing is to set the protagonist well and tell his origins ”.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be released in theaters on April 8, 2022.

Who is Knuckles?
Knuckles debuted in 3's Sonic the Hedgehog 1994 on Sega genesis, initially as an antagonist. The character was tricked by Dr. Robotnik into believing that Sonic was actually a villain intent on stealing the Emerald Master, causing a conflict between the two characters. After the truth was revealed, Knuckles would appear in numerous games as Sonic's ally.
