The review of Huawei Band 6: between sportiness and elegance
Huawei Band 6

Launched a few weeks ago, Huawei Band 6 is the latest addition to Huawei's wearable range, backed by a plethora of renewed functions to monitor your daily workouts. We had the opportunity to try one of these devices and we propose you therefore our review di Huawei Band 6.

Huawei Band 6: elegant and functional

A little band, a little watch fit. The accessory proposed by Huawei is proposed as an interesting middle ground between these two devices, and offers a myriad of functions useful for detecting the physical parameters of its user, combined with a modern and attractive design, which we found particularly pleasant.

Band 6 is worn like a normal watch, with a comfortable and functional silicone strap.

The display instead is a AMOLED from 1,47 ′ and the screen is always easily readable both in terms of size and resolution. Even when hit by direct sunlight the screen is always clear, however it does not have a self-adjusting brightness function, a factor that can be uncomfortable if you frequently switch from indoor to outdoor environments.

To activate the screen it is necessary to rotate the wrist thanks to the accelerometer, to send it to standby instead just cover it with one hand.

Moving between menus and widgets with swipe left and right and side home button is very comfortable and fluid. In this way we will be able to check various vital parameters, such as the level of stress and heart rate, and other more generic ones, such as the weather and daily goals.

The quick menu by swiping down allows you to quickly access the main functions such as do not disturb, vibration, alarm, screen sleep standby, battery data and bluetooth.

By swipe up on the other hand, it is possible to access the notification history. This last menu, as in most of the bands, is one-way, since it is a read-only window of notifications without any kind of interaction other than the elimination of the same.

It doesn't help that the software cannot read the emojis: We therefore recommend that you set your reminders using short phrases, otherwise a blank notification will appear on the band.

Sports

In total, Huawei Band 6 supports more than ninety sports, but only a handful have specific detections, that is indoor and outdoor running, indoor and outdoor pedaling, indoor or outdoor swimming, rope jumping, elliptical, rowing machine.

You can add widgets of many other sports, but they will all have generic metrics, such as goals of time, distance and so on, along with various reminders about training stress, heart rate, distance, time.

Each workout is timed, divided into intensity zones and takes into account the calories, for some sports also the pace.

The band unfortunately does not have a built-in gps, which makes it necessary to carry the phone with you during outdoor sports. In any case, all the exercises will be recorded, and the parameters will be available in the chronology of the exercises on theApp Huawei Health.

The band also offers sleep tracking, which we found to be very accurate. Useful in this sense is the section dedicated to sleep in the Huawei Health app, which keeps track of all the sleep phases recorded by the band, such as light sleep, rem phase, naps, total hours in the day and which provides a score for each parameter. indicating if everything is average, little, or too much.

Batteria e App Huawei Health

One of the strengths of the Huawei Band 6 is extremely fast charging, which in 5 minutes is able to restore about two days of autonomy.

The battery, after heavy use with constant tracking of sleep, stress, heart rate, blood oxygenation and various workouts, drops by about 10% per day, for a total of ten days of total autonomy.

As far as the 'App Huawei Health instead, it is an intuitive and feature-rich application in which to examine in detail all the parameters recorded by the device, such as exercise history, heart rate, sleep, weight, stress, SpO2.

There is also the possibility to choose from a multitude of graphics for the dial, which guarantee a wide range of customization.

Huawei Band 6: our review in brief

Huawei Band 6 therefore configures itself as a very useful and also aesthetically pleasing technological accessory, particularly suitable for anyone who leads one sporty lifestyle characterized by frequent and constant workouts.

Accomplice in this sense too the assault price, of € 59,99, that make it accessible to virtually anyone. A notable added value is its elegant shape, which makes it a device capable of not disfiguring even in the most formal contexts.
