The masks worn by American athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics are making the web talk a lot in these last hours. The reason? They closely resemble the mask used by the famous Batman villain, Bane, in the last film of the trilogy de The dark Knight. In truth, these are goggles produced by Nike and not yet available for purchase.
Tokyo 2020 and the bizarre USA masks
As mentioned at the beginning, these bizarre goggles are a Nike product and are currently being advertised on the company's official website, although they are no longer available at the moment. THETheir cost, in any case, is as much as 60 dollars, so it is very likely that we are not faced with the classic disposable medical devices that we have been accustomed to during the past months.
Unlike those seen on athletes, the masks advertised will also be black and in the description Nike has specified that they were created with those who practice sports assiduously in mind. In fact, the new masks should ensure better breathing and have a shape inspired by origami.
Despite this description, the new line of masks did not fail to attract the attention of the public. Some immediately compared them to Bane's mask, Batman's villain in The Dark Knight Rises. Indeed it is impossible not to notice a certain similarity.
Other more imaginative users have compared them to muzzles and even the constricting mask worn by Hannibal Lecter during his trial.
