WhatsApp: Now you can make group calls!

WhatsApp: Now you can make group calls!

WhatsApp updates with a new feature! You can now make audio and video calls with several of your contacts at the same time. These group calls are currently being deployed on Android and iOS smartphones equipped with beta 2.18.162.

Anxious to catch up on its competitors Skype and Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp continues to deploy new features, for the most part very similar to what its rivals already offer. Since mid-October 2021, WhatsApp has also enabled its 1 billion active users to share their position live with their contacts. This option is directly borrowed, in its overall operation, from Facebook Messenger.

WhatsApp: group calls are being rolled out on Android and iOS

A few days ago, group video and audio calls appeared on the iOS beta version of WhatsApp. Soon after, the latest Android beta allowed some users to make group calls. The function is not yet accessible for all beta users. This is probably a limited test from WhatsApp servers, says Android Police.

How do group calls for WhatsApp work? When you are in the middle of a call (audio or video) with one of your friends, all you have to do is press the add contact icon at the top right of the screen and choose from your contacts the one you want to add conversation.WhatsApp allows up to 4 contacts to converse simultaneously, say the first users. When you pick up the phone, the messaging application will carefully present the names, avatars and phone number to you.

To test the latest news in the messaging application, and thus increase your chances of making group calls before others, download the latest beta version of WhatsApp from the Google Play Store.
