In short, Amazon Counter is a real technological evolution of the classic "click and collect" service which had recently disappeared in favor of the Amazon Lockers. Thanks to Counter, retailers will be able to benefit from a greater number of customers converging on their businesses. For retailers, in fact, there are numerous benefits of this partnership, starting with the possibility of having more customers in their offices. There are many buyers from Amazon.it and Amazon.co.uk who often have problems with receiving packages: it could happen that you are not at home during the delivery of the courier or that you do not have an office or work place available. able to receive goods on behalf of third parties. Thanks to the Counter service it will therefore be possible for everyone to collect the packages containing the purchases made from the site at the most convenient store or shopping center close to home.. This allows, for example, to place an order, have it received by the chosen shopkeeper and collect it in comfort even on a day other than the delivery day. In this way it will be possible to avoid the loss of the package or the need for a further passage of the courier.

“For Counter we have employed a technology that radically improves and modifies the click & collect service,” explains Patrick Supanc, Director of Lockers and Collection Points. “We are delighted that our customers can finally take advantage of this service at the thousands of outlets available, but we are not going to stop there. In fact, we are already trying to involve new partners and we want to extend this opportunity also to small neighborhood shops and chains so that commercial activities of all sizes can benefit from the expansion of the Counter collection points network "

Thanks to the success obtained from the first tests carried out in the weeks before the launch of the service, the Counter network is active from today and will be progressively extended to all partner points of sale during 2019, including the NEXT stores in the United Kingdom and the Giunti, Fermopoint and SisalPay points of sale in Italy.

“Amazon Counter will be an engine to further develop our valued and innovative service and will help our partners attract more customers to their stores,” says Alberto Luisi, CEO and founder of Fermopoint. “We are confident that the partnership with Amazon represents a new and stimulating reason for growth for Fermopoint. We are happy to work alongside a company that puts customers at the center of its service. A philosophy that we fully embrace ”.

Using the Amazon Counter service is very simple: After completing the order on Amazon.it or Amazon.co.uk, customers will be able to proceed with the payment and then select the most convenient Counter collection point according to their needs. When the order is delivered to the chosen collection point, the customer will receive a notification via email or via the official Amazon app containing a unique barcode for collection together with the opening hours of the store. From that moment on, the buyer will have 14 days to collect the order at the chosen store. Once in the store, customers will be able to show the unique barcode to the store staff who, once scanned, will deliver the package.
