Google Pay: paying for your purchases with PayPal is possible

Google Pay and PayPal are strengthening their integration to allow Internet users to buy online very easily by combining the two payment solutions. They can thus pay for purchases with Google Pay using Paypal on merchant sites that allow it.

Google Pay has been available in our country since December 2021 but only a few banks are partners in our regions. For those who prefer not to use their bank card directly, it is also possible to link your Google Pay account with Paypal. Until now, this link has only allowed purchases to be made with certain Google services such as YouTube, Gmail or Google Play. Now, the option opens to e-commerce sites.

Google Pay: paying for your purchases with PayPal on e-commerce sites becomes possible

As Google explains in a note published on its blog, by allowing merchant sites to link their Paypal account to Google Pay, the latter can cash in their sales in a few minutes on their PayPal Business account. Millions of users already trust Google Pay as a centralized means of payment with their smartphone.

With PayPal as an option, they can pay for their purchases on e-commerce sites in seconds without having to authenticate in advance on their PayPal account or enter any bank card number. This saves time by removing steps during the checkout process. The other advantage for customers is that they obviously benefit from the same guarantees that Paypal offers for the protection of their purchases.

The use of PayPal with Google Pay on e-commerce sites is possible in the 24 countries where the connection between the two solutions is already available to users to pay for their YouTube Music Premium subscription or their purchases on the Google Play Store.
