Google solved the issue that caused some Android applications to freeze due to a system component called Android System WebView. It will be enough update Android System WebView and Google Chrome to the latest versions currently available on Google Play.
Android application blocking: Google fixes with an update
Some Android apps in the last few days were freezing and crashing, but Google has solved the problem. The problem was due to a system component called Android System WebView which allows Android apps to view web content. Google released a fix and asked users to update Android System WebView to version 89.0.4389.105 and Google Chrome to the latest version. Both are available on Google Play.
The problems started Monday afternoon and lasted about seven hours, according to the Google Workspace Dashboard for Gmail. The company recommended using the desktop interface until the problems were resolved.
"We are aware of an issue with WebView that causes some applications on Android to crash for some users." he has declared Google in a statement to The Verge. "We are currently working to resolve the issue."
Some users have claimed that removing the latest update to WebView fixed the problem and, in fact, the official US support Twitter account of Samsung advised to perform exactly this step.
