About a year after the official presentation, the new back is finally available Hasselblad 507X 50C. Until now, only a special version of this back was available, created in a limited edition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
From a technical point of view, the differences with the special version are not many, but the first is the most evident: the new model does not have the same matte black finish, but the classic silver chromium plating typical of the Hasselblad V series returns.
The 907X 50C system consists of the CFV II 50C digital back and the ultra-thin 907X camera body, an object weighing just 200g. They are designed to be used together with the XCD series optics, but through dedicated adapters you can also take advantage of the HC / HCD, V System and XPan optics.
The heart of the 907X 50C system is still the popular one medium format sensor 50 million pixel CMOS. We also find the exceptional dynamic range that reaches 14 stops, the 16-bit color depth and Hasselblad Natural Color Solution technology for natural color reproduction. The sensitivity offered extends from ISO 100 to 25.600.

Hasselblad tradition is combined with new technologies and it is in fact possible to use only the CFV II 50C back to work with most of the products of the V-System series. In this way you can enjoy the analogue experience but also the quality of today's sensor, the best way to combine the past and the historicity of Hasselblad with modernity.
Hasselblad 907X 50C: technical specifications and new accessories
Such a product has a charm that should not be constrained in numbers, data and specifications, it is a product to be tested in the field and with which to get excited about the experience of use. But it is equally clear that we are providing information here and we cannot leave out certain details. So I can tell you that the 907X 50C system comes with a 3 ″ diagonal swivel display, with touch controls and a resolution that now reaches 2,4 million points. There are also two UHS-II SD card slots, a USB 3.0 Type-C input and there is no shortage of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
From Sweden there are also new accessories to be combined with the 907X 50C system. The first is the 907X OVF optical viewfinder, which recalls the design of the historic SWC viewfinder. It mounts easily through the special slide and allows a comfortable management of the frame at eye level.
Along with the optical viewfinder comes an optional handle, the Control Grip 907X. It is not a simple handle for better stability, in fact, with this accessory the photographer will have all the main functions at hand. To adjust opening, timing or choice of focus point it will no longer be mandatory to switch from the touch display, but you can take advantage of the buttons and the comfortable joystick of the Control Grip 907X.
Hasselblad 907X 50C: price and availability
The new Hasselblad back is already available for purchase on the online store, but deliveries won't take place until the end of August. The price of the Hasselblad 907X 50C mirrorless system is € 6.590, therefore around 1000 euros less than the special matt black version. As for the accessories, however, the Control Grip 907X costs € 749 and the optical viewfinder € 499.
