Technology OLED has made great strides ensuring excellent image quality. Among the TV manufacturers, LG stands out which, with the CX series, has been able to integrate the best of technology. Today we want to talk to you about LG OLED CX55, a 55 ”, 4K TV with technology NVIDIA G-Sync. Among the standout features we also find a new integrated processor: the α9 Gen3 4K with AI. Technology AI allows you to automatically optimize images and audio, to ensure maximum performance. In addition to this, AI ThinQ technology allows you to have maximum control of our home IoT ecosystem.

There are also interesting features related to the world of video games. LG indeed integrates Nvidia G-Sync technology in order to reduce lag, stuttering and flickering.
All this wonderful technology is also combined with a cutting-edge design: slim, practically borderless and absolutely elegant.
Without going further into the presentations, let's find out in detail what this magnificent TV has to offer.  LG OLED CX55 review: slim, elegant and performing

Elegance is the key word

The first thing to hit of LG OLED CX55 TV is the design: minimal and elegant. The dimensions are 1228 mm x 738 mm x 251 mm (with the stand), for a weight of about 23 kg.
What makes this TV extremely attractive from an aesthetic point of view is first and foremost it thickness. The panel is a couple of millimeters wide, it almost seems to be dealing with a thin sheet of paper. This is true for a good 60-65%; the lower part of the TV, in fact, has a thick swelling of about 5 cm. Unfortunately it is not possible to do without it as this is the home of all electronics. A detail to consider especially if you want to hang the product on the wall.
In addition to being extremely fine, the screen also features a very small frame, almost imperceptible. The combination of these features gives a very pleasant glance.

LG OLED CX55 is not just a wall luminaire: in the package we find, in fact, a elegant pedestalor. In keeping with the design of the TV, this too appears very sober and compact. It looks like some kind of blade, very thin, made of gray metal. There are no particular details, only the LG OLED writing on the right side. Anchoring the TV to the pedestal is not too simple. In order to assemble it, it is in fact necessary to place the screen on some support and anchor the “base + pedestal” complex with screws.
Again to emphasize the elegance factor, we also mention an interesting scompartment positioned on the base of the TV that will allow the passage of cables.

What are the features of this LG OLED CX55?

As mentioned at the beginning, the new LG TV has some interesting features: a new processor and AIThinQ technology. Let's go and see them in a little more detail.

    Processor ɑ9

The LG OLED CX55 TV is equipped with the ɑ9 Gen3 processor. It is a component that can analyze the quality of the original content and optimize it for the maximum experience.
In detail, the third generation 9 is capable of process the image by optimizing what are contrast and saturation, so as to obtain superior quality. Specifically, we will have more accurate colors, image accuracy and even greater ease in reading text on the screen.
Among the features of the processor we also find the AI Brightness technology that allows you to adjust the brightness based on the ambient light. A cutting-edge system that will allow us to enjoy every scene at any time of the day. LG OLED CX55 review: slim, elegant and performing

    AIThinQ

Another prominent feature of the LG home TV is the AIThinQ technology, capable of connecting the whole house. Google Assistant, Integrated Amazon Alexa, Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit they will always be within reach of the television. But what exactly does that mean? Specifically, we can order a pizza while sitting comfortably on our sofa while watching a movie, without lifting a finger. We will just have to ask Google or Alexa directly from our TV. Furthermore we can even ask for extra information about a movie we are looking at, on the actors involved or on the programs to follow.

What is the 5 cm on the back for?

The TV screen LG OLED CX55 it is extremely thin, yet there is a fairly thick block on the back. Why is it not possible to do without it? We cannot eliminate it as this is the headquarters of all electronics, including sound. In this section we also find all the dedicated entrances.

Specifically we have 4 2.1 HDMI ports, with support for Variable Refresh Rate and 4K up to 120Hz in full RGB, 3 USB ports, a network port, a digital terrestrial and SAT antenna, an optical digital output, an analog input for composite video and stereo audio and the headphone output. An HDMI input is eARC enabled and there is no lack of support for Nvidia's G-Sync technology (if we were to connect a PC with a compatible graphics card).
Finally, there is no lack of connectivity Bluetooth e Wi-Fi.

An image suitable for every situation

The picture quality of the new LG OLED CX55 TV is truly impressive. Obviously the particular beauty of the scenes is guaranteed thanks to the OLED technology which, by deactivating every single pixel, is able to return not just deeper black tones, but also the right one gradation and tonality to the rest of the colors. The color balance is perfect: deep blacks are flanked by bright whites, in order to ensure a clean and detailed picture. The result is a perfect dynamism.

LG also supports technology HDR and emphasizes the image more and more. The screen is able to perfectly match the tones, making them more vivid when needed. The colors are natural and always full-bodied and bright. The beauty of the image is never distorted by unnatural colors, quite the contrary. And this is where LG shows its strength. The images have excellent definition: the edges are sharp and marked and the details well reported. All this generates a perfect depth of image that turns into an excellent rendering. Watching movies, TV series or cartoons in 4K is something wonderful. LG OLED CX55 review: slim, elegant and performing

Since the TV is compatible with the technology G-Sync di NVIDIA, we also wanted to do a little test in the gaming sector. Clearly we are not in front of a monitor made only for gaming, but the features on paper have impressed us enough to try it out.
In terms of image, we can only raise our hands in front of so much beauty. As with movies, even in the game the quality is excellent. The colors are alive, dynamic and full-bodied. Brilliant at the right point. Brightness and contrast are balanced in a harmonious dance.
Input lag is also barely noticeable and responses are fast enough. Of course, we reiterate that this is not a gaming monitor, but we also emphasize its excellent performance. In particular, when connected to consoles, it proves to be a perfect companion.

A sound that is not entirely adequate

It is good to make a little mention of the sound compartment. Unfortunately, despite many beautiful qualities and technologies being praised, this remains a bit disappointing. What you notice right away is quite a sound dish and it does not emphasize dynamism. The tone balance is good, the bass is well weighted, yet overall we don't hear the full involvement of the sounds.
A real shame, given that the graphic rendering is of a very high level. But the real flaw is the structure of the TV, too low for a soundbar to be placed.

How easy is it to approach the LG OLED 55CX TV?

Finally we also analyze the interface of the LG OLED 55CX TV. Also this year the brand relies on WebOS in its version 5.0. The changes are not that different from the past. It is an interface full of pre-installed apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, DAZN or Disney +.
Browsing on WebOS it is done simply by use of the remote control through Bluetooth technology. So, we just need to move and point the same on the desired app and then click, nothing too cumbersome.

The remote control is also equipped with a microphone which will allow us to access Google or Alexa functions. LG OLED CX55 review: slim, elegant and performing

LG OLED 55CX sì o no?

The new TV LG OLED CX55 it is a very interesting product, with an elegant and minimal style. The screen is large, thin, with a very fine bezel: perfect for hanging or standing. In this case, no style drop, thanks to a clean and elegant support.
La image quality is excellent, each scene is enhanced by excellent colors, accompanied by perfect saturation. Contrast and sharpness are perfectly balanced. Excellent features and technologies that compose it. The only real flaw is the sound, not up to par with the rest of the product. A lack also encouraged by the impossibility of installing a soundbar due to the set-up being too low.
Overall, however, it is a great product suitable for all those who need a stylish TV with fantastic quality.
