Google restores its application Calendar for cars. These days, it's releasing a new update for Android Auto which allows the car software to recover some of its functionality.

This new update also includes a reset of the Calendar app. It becomes important to the driver because it allows you to view information for the next appointment and get directions if a location has been added to the calendar entry. They can also be transmitted from a mobile device and the synchronization depends on the user himself, who can enter all the information already on his smartphone.

The return of the application
Google previously removed the Calendar app from its latest redesign in 2019. It had been replaced with a button that simply read appointments aloud using the Google Assistant, instead of showing a series of generic information on the screen. The new update also adds relevant shortcuts to the application. For example, if you need to pick up a birthday cake, you may have the option to call the local store or view directions to get there. Apple introduced a similar calendar feature in 2019 which allowed its users to C to call up directions and see appointments as part of its update iOS 13.
Other news for the company
In addition to bringing intelligence back into its Calendar app, Google also announced today that it is working with partners to reserve early access to. This is to help create new apps and categories for Android Auto, including electric vehicle navigation, parking and charging. However, Google has not confirmed how these applications will be distributed. If the tests are successful, Google will make these APIs publicly available so that other software developers can start building new apps for its automotive software.
